Specifically, he desired to understand the various cultures and functions of how the Fae live, and wonders what humanity can learn from it. However, his true goal is to get an understanding of the way that magic diminishes over a family's generations. When he learned of this fact through his studies and half-fae colleagues, he felt saddened by such a phenomena, and has made it his primary desire to prevent the diminishing of magic. To that end, he has been trying to come up with methods and inventions that could potentially stall or prevent families from losing their magical potential.
Despite his calm demeanor, he can also be made very excitable (like that of a child). He longs to learn new things so that he may improve on his inventions, and will almost squeal in delight when he feels he's taken even the slightest step forward.
